Avinash Tripathi, a renowned poet, scriptwriter, and filmmaker from Jaipur, was honoured with the Vindhya Gaurav Award at a grand ceremony in Mumbai. The Vindhya Gaurav Award is given to eminent Central Indians who have done outstanding work at the national and international levels in cinema art, social service, and business. Padma Shri Soma Ghosh, eminent classical singer and daughter of Bharat Ratna Bismillah Khan, renowned businessman Shyam Singhania, owner of an aviation company AD Manik, and Rajesh Srivastava, editor in chief of Films Today magazine, presented the award to Avinash Tripathi.

Avinash has been making short films for the past 20 years and holds the record for making the most short films (750) in India. Avinash writes scripts and lyrics for a number of major corporate production houses. Avinash has previously worked as a Doordarshan news anchor and as a cinema professor at Amity University. Avinash is also a member of many international film festivals’ juries and advisors, as well as the founder and director of International Art Culture and Cinema. Soma Ghosh, a classical singer, described Avinash as the best writer and poet of his generation after witnessing his talent. Following the award, Avinash thanked the program’s organiser, Vishnu Mishra, as well as all of the jury members.
